Ayana Papaj

Welcome to my professional portfolio! My name is Ayana Papaj, and I am a rising senior at Northeastern University studying Health Science with a minor in Business Administration. Throughout my time at Northeastern, my academic and professional experiences have shaped my interest in healthcare beyond traditional clinical roles. I am especially interested in hospital operations, healthcare innovation, and the medical technology industry, where I hope to contribute to making healthcare delivery more efficient and accessible.

My interest in healthcare innovation has developed both inside and outside of the classroom. In Product Design, Development, and Innovation, I explored the intersection of healthcare and business while developing AlgaFlex, an algae-based biodegradable orthopedic patch designed to track muscle extension and support remote physical therapy monitoring. Later, during my co-op at Tufts Medical Center, I rotated through several clinical departments and gained firsthand experience with the importance of communication, coordination, technology, and efficient workflows in patient care. Together, these experiences encouraged me to think more critically about the systems and technologies that support healthcare professionals and their patients.

This portfolio highlights three major projects from my time at Northeastern that demonstrate my development as a researcher, writer, and emerging healthcare professional. The work included throughout this website reflects my ability to research complex healthcare topics, communicate information to different audiences, and consider healthcare challenges from both scientific and operational perspectives. Through these projects, I hope to demonstrate not only the skills I have developed throughout my undergraduate education, but also my continued interest in innovation and improving the delivery of patient-centered care.
